Shishir Parkhie born on 7 November 1967 at Nagpur in the state of Maharashtra, India is a Playback, Ghazal,〔https://www.facebook.com/shishirghazals〕 Bhajan〔https://www.facebook.com/shishirdevotional〕 singer & music composer.
Shishir has been nominated twice in the best Ghazal album category for the prestigious Global Indian Music Academy Awards for his self composed solo Ghazal albums Roomaniyat in 2012〔http://www.gima.co.in/oty-non-film-music-nominees.php?y=2012〕 & Siyahat in the year 2015.〔http://www.gima.co.in/oty-non-film-music-nominees.php?y=2015〕〔Awarded by All India Radio on the occasion of International year of Child in 1979.〕 He is a graded artiste of All India Radio. His overseas Ghazal performances at Nairobi, Dubai, Bahrain & Saudi Arabia recently were highly appreciated.
==Early life==
Born in a family with a strong musical background, Parkhie received his training in music at a young age from his mother, Pratima Parkhie. He began learning vocal music and tabla when aged six. Soon thereafter he gave noteworthy performances on stage. His outstanding participation in various competitions won his many accolades. His first solo concert at the age of fifteen was much appreciated by the Ghazal connoisseurs. He received an award from All India Radio on the occasion of International Year of the Child in 1979. He practises various forms of music ranging from ghazal, bhajans, semi-classical music to playback singing.
